Touring Pole

Designed for Alpine Touring and Backcountry skiers, these stocks feature an extended grip. The 400mm lightweight EVA Ripple grip allows the skier to adjust the height of their grasp as conditions demand, either on the uphill skinning track or on the downhill run.

Great for skiers who like to rip at the resort or in the backcountry, fixed length touring poles are gaining worldwide popularity for their dependable strength and ease of use during technical ascents and wailing descents. No more fiddling with collapsible poles that require adjustment and occasionally fail in the backcountry.

Note: We're currently out of "stock" of the bright green grips. Instead we have some very groovy Olive Green and Smoke Grey colours. Just email us and we'll send pics...

Please note: Touring poles come with a fixed length strap, email us if you'd prefer adjustable straps added for an extra $10... a range of colours are available.

Important: We craft custom length stocks to match your exact height. Please check the table below to calculate the size required.

For skiers who spend most of their time in the backcountry we suggest adding 5cms to the recommended length of stocks. [This gives greater leverage on the skin track and approach as a longer pole makes skating easier.]

Traditional Poles

This traditional grip shape offers a classic ergonomic handle for all-day skiing across the mountain. Made in Europe from soft-touch injection-moulded elastomer this timeless grip will contour perfectly to your hand.

Built with smooth retro styling in mind, the Trad range features a lightweight touring grip and adjustable straps, just like your old poles, only much, much better

Our handcrafted bamboo stocks are guaranteed to get you noticed and start up conversations in lift lines and riding chairs wherever you roam. Form, fashion and function with the added satisfaction of sustainability!

Important: We craft custom length stocks to match your exact height. Please check the table below to calculate the size required.

Rad poles

Built with the freeride community in mind, The Rad range highlights the use of soft rubber BMX grips over the more orthodox handles of the Trads.

Great for skiers who like to rip at the resort or in the park, the Rads handle is a great choice for all-day skiing comfort. Measuring 160mm these grips allow for a slight variation in grip length and their chunky aesthetic certainly stands out on the mountain.

  • For you Japow buffs and tree-skiing powder puffs, the Rad straps are fully removable to avoid those distracting dislocated shoulders when bushwhacking for stashes of the good stuff! And, as a consolation bonus, the choice of extra bright grip colours are great for signalling in the rescue helicopter, when things don’t go exactly to plan!!
  • For Park skiers a strong and flexible bamboo ski pole is the perfect choice. No more mangled and bent aluminium stocks when you don't quite stick the landing.
  • They're so sendy because they're bendy!!

Important: We craft custom length stocks to match your exact height. Please check the table below to calculate the size required. [We're happy to make short length stocks for dedicated Park skiers.]

Why Bamboo Poles?

If you've skied for any number of years, you've probably bent a pole or two. It's simply what happens with aluminum shafts: fall on them, and they kink. Once bent, they stay that way. Ski poles are often treated as disposable items, and the storerooms of ski lodges around the globe are littered with the remains of old ski poles.

Bamboo ski poles are 25% stronger than aluminum shafts and comparable in strength to carbon composite fiber poles. However, in situations where aluminum would kink and carbon composite would snap, bamboo shafts simply flex and straighten, emerging undamaged and ready to ski on.

Bamboo is truly a wonder product. Acre for acre, it produces more than three times the amount of "timber" as trees—although, strictly speaking, it is a grass. Bamboo is a highly effective carbon sink, capable of quickly sequestering huge amounts of carbon in biomass. It can thrive and regenerate on degraded lands, and its large-scale planting is crucial to a nature-based approach to mitigating global warming.

Bamboo cultivation requires no pesticides or fertilizers. With both a quick turnaround time and high yield, it is the perfect environmentally friendly building material known to man. The durable products that bamboo can create are able to replace timber, concrete, steel, and aluminum.

Over recent decades, there has been a gradual decline in the length of the Australian ski season, as well as in the snow mass and quality during those seasons. Winters are shorter, and the effects of global warming are increasingly evident.

While purchasing bamboo ski poles alone will not reverse environmental damage, every consumer choice has a ripple effect. Transitioning to a more circular economy that prioritizes recyclable and sustainable materials is essential for preserving the planet's finite resources.

Bamboo ski poles are fully recyclable and largely biodegradable.

Choosing a plant-based pole supports a more sustainable future.
